Welcome to "Anton Pann"
Since 2004, the Vocal-Instrumental Old Music Orchestra “Anton Pann” has been laboring to discover and reveal to the public around the world the long-forgotten, but unique musical tradition of the Balkans.
The conductor Constantin Raileanu, together with a group of talented musicians, research old manuscripts, hidden in Romania’s libraries or monasteries.
They transpose these findings into sounds of ancient medieval instruments and, with the wonderful voices of youth, play them as close as possible to the musical ethos of the time.
The band also researches and performs songs with religious and secular character, as for example carols and other holiday traditions, trying to expose to the world, as close as possible to reality, these musical jewels.
